The Golden Nugget Las Vegas is a hotel and casino that lives to this day in downtown Las Vegas on the Fremont Street Experience. The hotel was originally built in 1946 by Guy McAfee, a former head of the vice squad of the Los Angeles police and the first person to refer to the Las Vegas Strip as The Strip, and since has been a mainstay of the gambling city. Its success has led to the Golden Nugget being expanded to other locations such as Atlantic City and Lake Charles.
