Chaparral Restaurant Ashtray Wall Art

A high quality art print of an ashtray from the Chaparral Restaurant, Panorama City, California. Vintage, circa 1950s. Framed in 3/8" extruded aluminum metal. Made in the USA.

This ashtray has plenty of text on it, reading, "Foods of distinction / 8751 Van Nuys Boulevard ...Panorama City, California / for reservations... 892-0716 / foods of distinction from around the world / Chaparral Restaurant". An initial search showed no information but digging deeper using the address yielded interesting results. While the Chaparral Restaurant's information did not show, for its location on Van Nuys Boulevard, El Rubi, Villa Wahnsinn, and Brazilina Restaurant all showed up for that exact address. We believe that the Chaparral restaurant probably existed in the 1950s and served more exotic fare, probably something different from classic American or Mexican dishes as they advertised "foods from around the world".
